Collaborative work
Danny has always wanted to extend his work into sculpture so that people could experience his world more fully by actually go into the paintings or to see what is on the other side. He has now realized this dream by finding just the right artists to help bring his world into sculpture.

Joyce Fritz Ritz and Bob  Ritz have been collaborating for years, but this is the first time with a folk artist. Each has a diverse background in the visual arts, and for many years, the performing arts, working as designers. Joyce draws on her experiences as a sculptor, costume and puppet designer, fiber artist and craftsperson.  Bob draws on his experiences as a sculptor, set designer, faux painter, prop master and model builder. What makes this collaboration so cutting edge is not only does Danny happily give his consent to interpret his paintings but he actually paints them with his own unique style.

Danny collaborated with another artist realizing his work through fiber arts. Elissa Crouch has more than 30 years creating beautifully hand dyed wool rugs and has brought her talents into Danny's world in a variety of ways.  She's worked with him to create pillows and small needle punch kits that capture his artwork in a new way.
